For over 20 years, Amy has built her career around a simple idea: listen first, design second. She sits down with homeowners across Wilmington and Brunswick County, learns how they actually live in their space, and turns that into a kitchen that works as hard as they do. Her own love of cooking means every design she creates comes from someone who understands what it’s like to actually use a kitchen, not just look at one.

The Professional

Amy grew up around the construction business, surrounded by family who built things for a living. That early exposure sparked a love of drafting back in high school. But Amy also had a pull toward helping people, which led her to study Psychology at UNCW with counseling in mind.

After college, a job designing kitchens at a big-box retailer changed everything. Amy realized the best kitchen design isn’t just about drawing — it’s about asking the right questions and truly hearing what a customer needs. That combination of psychology and design skill became her signature.

Today, Amy brings that same approach to every project at The Kitchen and Floor Store in Wilmington. Her initial consultations are thorough by design, giving her everything she needs to create detailed CAD renderings that bring a client’s vision to life — often before they’ve fully pictured it themselves.
